What Pergola is

Pergola is a membership directory of independent, licensed therapists. Every therapist you find here runs their own practice, is licensed in the state where they practice, and pays a flat membership fee to be listed. Pergola does not provide therapy, does not take a cut of sessions, and is not a party to the therapeutic relationship.

What Pergola isn't

Pergolais not a crisis service. If you’re in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in the United States) or go to your nearest emergency room.

Pergola is also not a medical advice service. Nothing on this website is a substitute for care from a licensed professional. The directory exists to help you find one.

Using the directory

You can browse the directory and send inquiries to therapists at no cost. When you send an inquiry, your information goes directly to that therapist, and any follow-up happens between the two of you on their schedule and on their terms.

Please use the contact forms to reach out about therapy — not to pitch services, send marketing, or scrape the directory. Automated access, harvesting, or reselling of profile content is not allowed.

Therapist membership

Therapists listed on Pergola are independent members. Each member is solely responsible for their clinical work, their licensing, their fees, and their interactions with clients. Membership does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between the therapist and Pergola. Pergola vets license status at the time of admission but is not a substitute for your own due diligence.

Content

Therapists retain ownership of the text and photos they publish on their profiles, and grant Pergola a non-exclusive license to display that content on the directory. Pergola may remove content that violates these terms, misrepresents credentials, or otherwise puts clients at risk.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

Pergolais provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Because we don’t provide therapy and aren’t a party to the therapeutic relationship, Pergola is not responsible for outcomes, advice, or any loss arising from your interactions with a listed therapist. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for anything arising out of your use of the site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months (which, for most visitors, is zero).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “last updated” date above. If the changes are material we’ll call them out at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
